This pickup is fantastic and is the best sounding acoustic pickup I've ever heard or used. The DPA 4099 mic is spectacular, but the issues (ie, feedback) render it too difficult to use in a band situation. I had the Expression ripped out and the Anthem installed in its place- and I have absolutely no regrets! With the Anthem, regardless of whether it's on the mic setting or transducer setting, I have to set the preamp gain to about 75% of max just to get a comparable output level. I was very nervous about installing a pick up in my Martin. While I liked the sound with the system, I decided to try the LR Baggs Anthem system on my second guitar, a 12-string. The ES system always had this harsh metallic sound to it, and while I liked it better than a standard piezo, I still wasn't crazy about it. The whole system feels very light.
